Dr. Lisa Ryoo offers private oboe lessons for middle school, high school, and adult students in person in Macomb, IL and online nationwide.
About Lessons
Dr. Ryoo provides customized lessons based on each student’s goals. This includes working on tone, intonation, rhythm, audition preparation exercises and repertoire, solo repertoire for recitals and Solo and Ensemble, All-State materials, scales, and chamber music all tailored to where each student is.
She also teaches oboe reed making and adjusting.
Lessons are available in weekly 30 minute and 60 minutes sessions both in-person in Macomb, Illinois and online. Virtual lessons are held via Zoom and require an internet connection and either a phone or laptop with a working camera.
About Dr. Ryoo
Dr. Ryoo received her DMA from the University of Iowa. Her teaching philosophy is to equip students with critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, to cultivate expression and to develop a deep appreciation for music. Her students have placed at All-State, young artist competitions, and graduating seniors have received scholarships on oboe regardless of their major. Whether her students aspire to become professional musicians or choose a different career, Dr. Ryoo’s goal is to help them become competent, patient, and creative young people in the world.
